When our family gets together, La Casa di Lucia (http://www.lacasadilucias.com/) is our default destination. La Casa is located in Trent Plaza, 14475 Bustleton Avenue, in the Somerton neighborhood of Philadelphia. It’s not a fancy spot, but if you want homemade Italian cuisine (bread AND pasta!) , this is a great place. The prices are fantastic and the portions are generous. (Check http://www.restaurant.com/ for $25 gift certificates too!) We have never had a bad meal! In fact, Tim and I had our wedding rehearsal dinner at La Casa, and my sister and her fiancé are having theirs here this fall.
The menu is huge! I haven’t made it through 5% of the menu even after years of going. That is likely due to us loving certain dishes so much, that we crave them and rotate the same
dishes! Last night, Tim had the baked lasagna; he is partial to any baked pasta dish or anything with meat sauce. It was great! I had penne in vodka sauce
with chicken. I LOVE their vodka sauce! I also love getting any of their pasta and seafood dishes; the cioppino is fantastic as well as anything fra diavolo.
The restaurant is owned and operated by a married couple, who are always around to socialize with the patrons. The bartender, Gloria, always remembers what we want to drink (try her orange cosmopolitan). There is live music almost every night, picture Atlantic City lounge music. It’s because of the family feel, and the consistently good food, that La Casa definitely has a loyal following of regulars.

Great place…family friendly and home to lots of regulars. Lunches are good too…some smaller versions of the dinner items. Try the Mango Martini and the VO Manhattan ; ) Not all at once though!
